Title: Ultimate Educator Expo 2008 - It's Getting Easier Being Green
Program Description: Calling all educators! Join us at the Zoo for the ultimate opportunity to learn about environmental education resources available in our community. Exhibitors from governmental, non-profit (Greenacres) and educational organizations will provide you with grade level appropriate training opportunities, lesson plans, field trips and tons of free stuff -- especially on being “green”. We offer FREE Zoo admission, free parking, break out sessions, refreshments and door prizes just for you. Don't miss seeing the newest Zoo exhibit featuring giraffes and their “green roof” barn. Program Title: Greenacres' Herb Garden Annual Open House
Program Description: This year's open house will review the Native American medicinal garden and endangered plants from our region. The program's focus includes medicinal uses of these plants. The Open House will be run by Master Gardener volunteers and is open to the public.

Title: Saturday Stream Snapshot (SSS) Citizen Monitoring Program Volunteer Training
Description: Volunteers needed collect samples, transport samples to the lab, analyze samples, and enter data into a database. Every Saturday at 9:30 a.m., we train new volunteers and give tours of the lab. As a 501(c) 3 organization, we can offer volunteers Community Service Hours. Come join the fun!

Title: Great Outdoor Weekend 2008
Description: The 5th annual Great Outdoor Weekend will be held September 27 and 28, 2008. Get Out during this fall weekend and experience a free sampling of the best nature activities in the Cincinnati Region. The Great Outdoor Weekend was designed by a group of environmental education and outdoor recreation organizations to provide a diverse sampling of the best nature activities in Greater Cincinnati. Because of the generous financial and in-kind support of our sponsors and participating organizations, all programs are FREE and open to the public.

Title: Great Outdoor Weekend 2008 - Water Festival at Izaak Walton League Lodge
Description: The Cincinnati Chapter of Izaak Walton League will be hosting Buckeye United Flyfishers, Greenacres Foundation Water Quality Project, Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District, Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Scenic Rivers Program, ONDR Division of Watercraft, and AEP River Operations for a fun filled day of water-related outdoor activities. Programs include Flyfishing (fly tying and casting), river fishing, canoeing, water safety demos, touring a Watercraft Patrol Boat, water chemistry testing, river critter monitoring, fish printing, Enviroscape demonstration, and an interactive River Works Discovery Exhibit. Come join the fun!
