Special events and fundraisers are conducted to benefit horse-related education programs in the community.
Greenacres Ride-A-Thon
The Greenacres Ride-a-thon is a trail-riding charitable event held each year to benefit various horse related programs in our local area. The ride is open to the public and participants must bring a horse to ride. Riders are asked to obtain sponsors who pay them to ride in the event. The sponsorship dollars are then given to a horse-related charity. Riders may ride for as long or as short of a period as they wish. Maps of the shorter (45 minute, 1 hr, and 2 ½ hr) trails on the property will be provided. Maps of the entire 150-mile Indian Hill Bridle Trail system will also be provided.
There is a $25 minimum sponsorship required to ride. The individual and the group with the largest amount of sponsorship dollars will be the winners of the prizes. Prizes vary every year based on donations.
Registration begins at 9 am and remains open until 2 pm. At 3 pm the winner of the group and individual prizes will be announced. Riders may stay on the trails as long as they wish or until dusk when we close the Equine Center. Please visit the Events Calendar page for the date of the next event.
