Overview of Environment & Agriculture Education Programs

Andy talking about bees

Environment and agriculture education topics range from agriculture, farm babies, organic gardening, sustainable agriculture, zoology, and everything in between. The facilities currently include multiple education sites. The Outdoor Education Center, or Old Church Site, is a historic stone building built in the 1820s that Greenacres converted into a classroom. The adjacent field office contains modern restrooms and a storage facility. The site also includes a barn, gardens, fields, a stream, woods, and trails. The Pond Site includes two ponds, a bird blind, a picnic shelter, fields, woods, trails, and pastures. Animals used for educational purposes include registered Black Angus beef cattle, sheep, chickens, turkeys, horses, and honeybees.
