Overview of Environment & Agriculture Education Programs

Greenacres offers multiple summer camp opportunities to youth grades 1-7 and publishes this information in a Greenacres Summer Opportunities brochure that is available each February.

Designed for children grades 1-7, the programs vary in theme, but incorporate outdoor experiences and agriculture with plenty of fun! These programs have become very popular and fill quite quickly. A schedule of programs and registration materials are available online or by mail in February each year. Consent and Release forms are available online as well. Because group sizes are limited to 12 children per session, the sessions are often filled by spring. Waiting lists are maintained for all programs. Programs are offered on a three-year rotation, so that children will not repeat programs should they attend camp from year-to-year. Sessions run mornings or afternoons Monday through Friday and a session typically lasts for 2-3 hours.

Farm to Table is a cooking camp program designed for children entering grades 1-7. Children explore the ‘farm-to-table connection’ by seeing where food prepared is raised and grown. Group size is limited to 12 children per class. Sessions run mornings Monday through Friday and typically last for 2 1/2 hours.

New Camp Offerings will start in June, 2012
