Over of the Arts Center Programs

Greenacres Arts Center is developing cultural arts programs to meet the needs of area school children. Program offerings will follow the highly successful model of the Environment and Agriculture Education Program operated by the Foundation since 1989. The model incorporates hands on experiential learning in a natural setting. Research has shown that student centered learning approaches improve academic achievement. Arts Center programs will engage students in classical music and visual arts. The goal of the Cultural Arts Program is to improve student performance and instill a sense of wonder and appreciation of music and visual arts.

School Programs:
The Arts Center will work with teachers of all disciplines to develop and implement custom programs that use classical music and visual arts to achieve Ohio's Academic Achievement Standards. Teachers interested in working with us to develop arts-based hands on learning experiences for their students should contact the Greenacres Arts Center staff. All school-based educational programs are free of charge. Some needs-based bus funding may be available; check with staff for availability.

Adult Programs:
Greenacres Arts Center is developing adult music and visual arts programs. The Arts Center has a magnificent Aeolian Organ and Steinway Piano that will be used for music events. The Arts Center also has custom lighting system to display visual arts. It is Greenacres goal to promote art appreciation by hosting various exhibitions featuring local artists. Nominal fees may be charged for adult events. The dates and times of public programs will be announced on the Greenacres Events Calendar. For more information contact the Arts Center at (513) 793-2787.
